4 Year Old Standard Grey Male Chinchilla -- "Zilla"

We have a standard grey male chinchilla who’s looking for his new home. His name is Zilla. Zilla came to the rescue not long ago, and is now ready to find a home of his own! We have down that he was born around September 2014, which makes him just a bit over 4 years old. Great time to take him home.

Zilla is a standard grey chinchilla, which is the classic grey color in chinchillas. He is a salt and pepper grey over his back, with a white belly.

Zilla can be a bit of a handful! He will be a lot of fun to own, you just have to be the right owner for him! He loves to go out and play… so much so that he continually escapes! Knowing this, usually I’m able to keep the escapees in their respective cages, but this little furball keeps getting out! He has no hesitation to hopping right onto your arm, your shoulder, your back, and off he goes! Just when you think you’re ready for him, he gets you. He is definitely a chin that will keep you on your toes! We’ve had to catch him after he’s gotten loose, numerous times now. He’s actually not that hard to catch when he’s on the loose, he just seems to really REALLY like exploring and running around! He would likely LOVE playtime, but for him, he’d probably do best in a room for playtime, as I could see this little furball escaping over pet gates and such. Juuust when you think, ok he’s being calm, maybe his escaping was a one time (or 8 time, you know) thing, but now he’s going to calm down and be better, nope! He’s gone again.

This all said, he can be handled and petted, but that’s far from his goal in life. He wants to go go go and loves running around. He’s more of a squirmy chin when being handled, and is definitely a high energy little guy! Should definitely go to a home that plans for having a decent size cage, possibly with a wheel, and possibly some playtime. Zilla has never bitten anyone.

Zilla is currently caged alone. Due to his activity level, other than pairing him with another super active chin, he may aggravate the crap out of another chin, even over time, so pairing should be done very carefully.

The adoption fee for Zilla is $75

9 Month Old Sapphire Wrap Male Chinchilla -- mild furchewer

We have a sapphire wrap male chinchilla who’s looking for his new home. He came to NWI just a bit ago, and is now ready to leave and go to a family of his own. We have down that he was born around 2/27/17, which makes him right about 8.5 months old! Great time to bring him home.

This boy’s color is called sapphire wrap. This is a blueish grey color in chinchillas, and the “wrap” part means that his belly is the same color as the rest of him. This is due to him having the ebony gene as well (without it, he would have a white belly). We almost never have sapphires in, much less sapphire wraps, so here’s your chance to adopt something unique! This guy’s color is not accurately captured on camera, he is just so pretty!  Unfortunately, he fur chews slightly, so he apparently doesn’t care about his appearance quite as much as we do, but we love him nonetheless!

This boy is super sweet. He’s relatively easy to pick up. Sometimes he will decide to talk to you when you go to pick him up, but he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He does really well with being handled and petted and is just super super sweet, we just adore this guy. While he does fur chew a little bit, it’s not too bad, just a few little patches on his hips, hardly even noticeable if you don’t know what you’re looking for. That’s ok though, because he’s super gorgeous and sweet! Doesn’t bite.

He would make a great “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had one before.

This chinchilla is currently caged alone. However, if you interested in pairing him up with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

The adoption fee for this sapphire wrap male chinchilla is $250
