NWI Chinchillas

Breeding quality chinchillas and rescuing exotics since 2003.

Our Chinchillas

This page contains pictures of just a small sampling of our chinchillas.  Some of these are strictly pet chins, others are breeder chins.  Regardless, they are all loved and treated the same.  Definitely spoiled the same as well.  All of our breeders have chew toys in their cages and are happy and healthy, just like the pet chins.

Please note that these chinchillas are our personal chinchillas.  The chinchillas on this page are not for sale.

Well, we started out with one chinchilla, got another, and became addicted.  This is the chinchilla that started it all!  The first one I ever purchaed, a standard grey male.  We named him Winx, because he "winked" at us.  Winx passed on December 27, 2014, but we keep his pictures here because he was a special chinchilla to us.

This is Toby.  Toby was bred by Randy Jagielo, and has Ritterspach, Bob Myers, and 6Okes lines.  Despite having good lines, he decided when he was young that he did not want to breed, and has been a spoiled pet chin ever since.  He's the only chinchilla left out of our original four pet chins that started everything.

This is Lexi, a hetero beige female.  Lexi was bred by B&B Chinchillas and received a 1A Color Class Champion at the 2012 Wisconsin Chapter Show.  She has Somavia, Dark Star, Hummel, and Bradford lines in her pedigree.

This is Squishy, a medium standard grey male.  He was bred by Monika Grogan and received a 2nd place at the Ohio Claim Show in2012.  He has Ryerson, Shoots, and Whitewoods lines in his pedigree.  Squishy is more of a posh pet than anything else -- while we did get him to add to the breeding herd, we've since come across better males to use, but we just love his personality!  He is just such a friendly, sweet chin!  We often take him when we need an ambassador chinchilla for an event!

This is Ace, a standard grey male from Jim Ritterspach.  He is a herd improvement male and has greatly helped our herd out!  We really enjoy having him, and his half brother, Dom, in our herd!

This is Diva, a standard grey female.  Diva was bred by the Lemlers (Chinchillas by Design), and has Hummel, Jags, Somavia, and Better Vetter Chinchillas lines.  She placed 1st at the 2013 MCBA Nationals.
